Meet John Maher
John Maher is the Founder and CEO of John Maher Builders (JMB), an award-winning residential homebuilder in Spring Hill, TN. Together with his team, John has built quite a legacy as Spring Hill’s number one homebuilder for over 30 years.
John moved to Franklin in 1976, where he began his career as a special education teacher and wrestling coach. He spent ten years in the school district before devoting his passion to building homes.
It all began in the 1980s with the purchase of a how-to book on homebuilding which would change the course of John’s career forever. With the book serving as his guide, John built his first home during summer break from teaching. Shortly after, building homes became a full-time gig for John, superseding any expectations he had set for himself. Now, approximately one in every six families living in Spring Hill live in a John Maher Builders home or community.
By reinvesting in Spring Hill and the surrounding areas through festival sponsorships, corporate donations, and scholarships, John takes pride in giving back to the community, which has given him so much. Not to mention, the contributions John has made to his alma mater, Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH, naming the athletic field after two very influential men in his life – his football coach and his father, both of whom molded his character and his drive to succeed.
John and his wife Margie have proudly called Williamson County home for over 40 years. Together they have four children, three daughters and a son.
